Dakota Glass Works Presents: Project Fire
Join the Dakota Glass Works team in welcoming artists from Firebird Community Arts: Project FIRE to Wardensville! Artists from both studios will collaborate in real-time to create a glass sculpture commemorating their first visit to West Virginia.
Project FIRE uses the art of glassblowing to provide a safe space for healing, connecting, and mentorship to young victims of gun violence in Chicago. Co-Founder of Project FIRE, Pearl Dick, has been a long-time friend of the Dakota Glass Works and Farms Work Wonders family, and we’re lucky to have her and her team visit our studio.
The Project FIRE team, alongside Dakota Glass Works Studio Manager and principal glassblower Byron Gaylord, will be available for questions and conversations while they work as guests mingle just outside the open studio. There will be snacks, drinks, live glassblowing, pieces for sale, and a discussion with the Firebird team about their work to support trauma recovery in their studio.
Please note that you need to present a valid ID if you’re going to drink an alcoholic beverage.
